Lullaway is me, Ryan. I'm the only person that has anything to do with writing and recording the music heard on this site or through my albums. In other words, I'm not a band. I've always admired bands and what they stand for, but I simply don't have the type of personality that works well with others from a creative standpoint.

I've written 4 albums, which can all be purchased from me directly. Select songs from these albums can also be heard within the music section of my site.

I started recording music in the early 2000s. I've written and performed homemade material before that, but my earliest recordings originated in 2000. At some point in time in my somewhat early life, I started orbiting around music. Being a fan of music. Many of the fondest memories that I have of my life can be recalled by the music that I listened to. This is why I started writing music. Like a kid that sees a toy and has to put their hands on it, I felt compelled to put my hands on music. I learned how to play guitar and then I realized that I never wanted to stop creatively expanding myself. Eventually, I made these progressions...

Steps and Thereafter was kind of a journal of my attempts at learning how to write songs. It's the most raw collection of music that I've recorded. I really didn't like my voice when I first started fully recording myself (this album). I wanted to do a million things with this album and reach a million different sounds.

Cleft was where I really felt like I was finding myself as a songwriter. I think this album was my boldest display of my love of the acoustic guitar. It's a natural album. I kept the editing and producing to a minimum, which... in turn... left a really long collection of songs. This one approaches the limit on a 80 minute CD-R. I can't imagine that I'll ever do that again.

Trembling Voice, Wretched Branches was my most listener friendly album. Not coincidently, "On Another Day" is my most popular song. This album was, lyrically, more full than my prior 2 albums. It just made more sense to more people. I did all of the work on this one very quickly. I had nothing better to do though as I was trying to find a post-college job.

I've really put a lot of time and effort into A Free Ride to Nowhere. It's been almost 3 years since I finished Trembling Voice, Wretched Branches... so I've been working on this one for a while. I wanted to really give as much as I could give to it. The production qualities are far superior to my earlier work. I'm proud of it. Even if nobody actually likes it, I'll still be proud of it.

Outside of music, I work as a Software Engineer in Rochester NY. I'd much prefer to be outside, enjoying nature, traveling, etc. I have a wonderful girlfriend of many years, a rabbit, a ferret, and a moron dog.
